Shaw was one of the team leaders for the Rattlers in his sophomore season. The previous world record holder was Eddie Hall who deadlifted a massive 500kg/1,102lbs at Europes Strongest Man in 2016. At its best, the two trade jibes for spikes in YouTube views and Instagram likes, but at its worst, the feud has seen Hall label Bjrnsson as "unsportsmanlike and unprofessional", "the world's weakest liar" and a "scum bag" and shared claims of poor conduct during Strongman competition meets. In 2015 he defeated the defending champion, Savickas, and he was able to retain his title in 2016, before losing it the following year to Britains Eddie Hall.
